چکیده

Thin-film solar cells are simple and affordable to produce, but their efficiency is low compared crystalline-silicon cells, needs be improved. This study investigates the photovoltaic performance of different absorber materials (CdTe, CIGS, Sb2Se3, CZTS) with structure Au/absorber/CdS/ITO. The research uses SCAPS (Solar Cell Capacitance Simulator), a mathematical model based on Poisson continuity equations. impact various parameters cell performance, such as layer thickness, acceptor density, electron affinity, back contact work function, temperature, examined. As per simulation results, an thickness 4 µm suitable for achieving maximum all materials. optimized density CdTe/CIGS/ Sb2Se3 CZTS taken 1016 cm−3 1017 cm−3, respectively. function device temperature were set 5.1 eV 300 K, respectively, achieve excellent performance. Among materials, highest 28.2% was achieved CZTS. aim highlight layers’ performances by optimizing parameters. obtained results can used in energy harvesting applications due improved characteristics.

Improving the optical properties of thin film plasmonic solar cells of InP absorber layer using nanowires

In this paper, a thin-film InP-based solar cell designed and simulated. The proposed InP solar cell has a periodic array of plasmonic back-reflector, which consists of a silver layer and two silver nanowires. The indium tin oxide (ITO) layer also utilized as an anti-reflection coating (ARC) layer on top. The design creates a light-trapping structure by using a plasmonic back-reflector and an an...

Optimization of Annealing Process for Totally Printable High-current Superstrate CuInS2 Thin-Film Solar Cells

Planar superstrate CuInS2 (CIS) solar cell devices are fabricated using totally solution-processed deposition methods. A titanium dioxide blocking layer and an In2S3 buffer layer are deposited by the spray pyrolysis method. A CIS2 absorber layer is deposited by the spin coating method using CIS ink prepared by a 1-butylamine solvent-based solution at room temperature. To obtain optimum annealin...

Thin-film Silicon Solar Cells

The simplest semiconductor junction that is used in solar cells for separating photogenerated charge carriers is the p-n junction, an interface between the p-type region and ntype region of one semiconductor. Therefore, the basic semiconductor property of a material, the possibility to vary its conductivity by doping, has to be demonstrated first before the material can be considered as a suita...
